Our Milestones

1997

The company commenced in 1997 as a Shrimp Feed importer under the name of ‘KMN Aquaculture Company’, in Puttalam.
1997

2000

Second Shrimp Farm Service Center was built and opened for operation in Palavi, Sri Lanka as “Millennium Center”
2000

2003

Launch of Technical Support for the Shrimp Farmers, and for the people who are involved in the industry, Free of Charge.
2003

2005

The company was amalgamated with C.P. Group, which is one of the world’s largest companies in Agribusiness. A Free Advisory Service was introduced by the company for Shrimp Farmers and interested parties.
2005

2008

Registration of KMN Aqua Services (Pvt) Ltd as a LLC. A new head office, “Aqua Plaza”, was opened with General Aquaculture & Microbiology Laboratory, Auditorium & a Customer Care Center.
2008

2012

Carried out First White Shrimp Farming Pilot Project with National Aquaculture Development Authority of Sri Lanka. Introduction of the usage of Probiotics for shrimp aquaculture in Sri Lanka.

2013

Started Service Center for Shrimp Farmers, in Eastern Province.
2013

2014

Joined with ‘Biostadt India’ for aquaculture healthcare products.
2014

2015

Joined with ‘Thai Union Group’, also known as A Global Leader of Seafood.

2017

International training was given to the staff and the farmers on White Shrimp Farming and its best practices and advantages by KMN Aqua .

2018

‘GREEN AQUACULTURE CONCEPT’ was launched for the First Time in Sri Lanka. Joined hand with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning System.
2018

2019

The Shrimp Farming Service Center in Puttalam, was renovated and the KMN Group opened a newly built warehouse in Puttalam.

2020

Initiate construction work of Local first SPF Nauplii Center. Introduce super intensive round tank system in the view of increasing national shrimp productivity.

2021

Introduction of advance technology such as Nano Bubble Aeration System and high density HDPE Pond liners to save energy cost. “KMN Green Aquaculture Project” in Mannar with the intention of expanding sustainable prawn farming outside the Puttalam District.

Repositioning of the brand as “The Green Aquaculture Specialist” to focus on providing the most sustainable aquaculture solutions through the adaptation of technology.
